Silver sands Villas
This is a small, Italian run hotel on a long, narrow plot. The hotel can accommodate 62 guests in a series of cottages and larger family villas. Although most of these are some distance from the beach and breezes, they are surrounded by gardens.
The rooms have parquet floors and Lamu style furniture and each has a private patio. There are ceiling fans and air conditioning, and there are bidets in the bathrooms. Reserve the "Malindi" villa if you want to be close to the beach.
Two swimming pools are in the central gardens area along with a large makuti-roofed restaurant with adjoining bar. Especially appealing is the natural thatched bar restaurant built right on the beach-checked cloths on the tables and sand underfoot.
Kivulini Beach Hotel
This hotel is built on the edge of a rocky cove with an attractive walkway by the sea. Te clientele is predominantly Italian. Accommodations are 36 thatched rondavel cottages with private verandas. Kivulini Beach hotel has eye-catching wooden furniture, a free from swimming pool and a well-stocked gift shop. The hotel is about five kilometers from town and reached by a sandy road through natural bush
Coconut Village
Coconut Village is an Italian resort with flair. There are two-story thatched beach villas with Arab Style furniture. Some rooms have sea views. The pool and restaurant are set back from the beach. There is a casual atmosphere and nightly entertainment.
Eden Roc
This large city style hotel in Malindi town has been recently renovated and looks fresh and clean. It caters primarily to inexpensive German Package tours. There are sea views from the lobby and some rooms. It is a long walk through gardens, down terraces and past two swimming pools to the beach.
African Dream Village
Set in natural tropical gardens, the large Dream Village can accommodate approximately 120 guests in a high thatch complex on the beach near Casuarina point and the Malindi Marine Park. Public rooms and restaurants are airy, a semi-circular swimming pool curls around a swim up bar. Rooms are air conditioned with private bathrooms. There are many sports activities, a disco, and a conference centre. This hotel caters primarily to tour group from Europe.
Blue Marlin
This city hotel on the Malindi beach front has 145 basic rooms with air conditioning. There are sports facilities and two pools. It is a long walk through the grounds to the beach.
Bougan Village
This large Malindi resort on 16 acres is quite a distance from the beach. For guests who want the beach experience, there is continuous bus service as well as a beach snack bar. Rooms and bungalows are located in gardens and have an ensuite bathrooms and Lamu-style furnishings. The thatched club has a restaurant, two bars and a swimming pool. There are two tennis courts in the park. The influence here is Italian, with disco dancing at Night.
